Cleaning venetian blinds is usually a difficult job, requiring hours of labor, sponges, and endless buckets of water. As a result, most people (myself included) only clean their blinds when they move and need to get a security deposit back from their landlord. I bought a box of these duster pads on the advice of a coworker. Normally I try to use environmentally friendly products that can either be reused many times or are biodegradable. Swiffer Dusters are probably the least environmentally friendly product I've used to clean the house, but they are also extremely effective and saved me hours of work. I received every penny of my deposit back. I used them on all our blinds and the dust came right off (I think I used one per blind, but our blinds were totally filthy). I had to spot clean some trouble areas with a wet sponge and soap, but for the most part, the Duster pad removed dust from all the blinds in a manner of minutes. Because they reach difficult to reach narrow spots with ease, I didn't have to contort any of the blinds in order to clean near the threads. I simply ran the duster over the blinds once when they were closed, then opened the blinds and cleaned in all the crevices. Done. Easy peasy. These also work well for baseboards and the top of ceiling fans, as well as under stereo equipment and television sets. I wish the material was biodegradable or could handle being washed. I tried washing and the effectiveness goes way down after just one wash. Too bad - if these were reusable, I'd use them as part of my weekly cleaning ritual.

I have a dust allergy and the Swifter Duster is the best of all commercial dusters we have used in our home. I really don't know how the technology works, but it works! It's a comfort to know that the dust stays in the fibers of the Swifter and it isn't being tossed about like it is with traditional dusters and new competitors.

I was skeptical about this product. Someone actually gave me a box and I didn't bother to open it for a long time, thinking it would be just another microfiber type of product. I couldn't have been more wrong. When I finally tried them out, I was surprised by several things. How much dust and dirt they hold that seems to never fall off of the duster. How easy they are to maneuver and work in tight spaces. They're simple to apply and remove and discard when finished. Finally, I think they are a good value, and I usually get at least a couple of dusting s from one, and they work extremely fast. I despise dusting, but these make the task manageable with excellent results. I've always made fun of swiffer freaks, but at least as far as the dusters go, I've converted.
